We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled. 20 And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 who is an opponent of good, a suspicious transgressor 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 My Word is not changed; and never do I inflict the least wrong upon My servants.” 29
