The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
