Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but they will not believe! 33 Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or have they a ladder whereon they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or is it that [they who reject thy message, O Muhammad, fear lest] thou ask of them a reward, so that they would be burdened with debt [if they should listen to thee]? 40 Do they have knowledge of the unseen, thus, are able to predict (the future)? 41 Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
