Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
God the Almighty always says the truth.
