Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In the high empyrean, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
