Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
