The dwellers of the forest also rejected the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
