He who is negligent to remember the Merciful One, to him We assign a satan as his boon companion, 36 Satan will prevent them from the right path while they think that they have the right guidance. 37 And when he comes before Us, he shall say: 'Would that there had been between me and you, the distance of the two Easts' Evil is the companion. 38 It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allah's remembrance and His worship, etc.) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarin) in the punishment. 39 What! can you then make the deaf to hear or guide the blind and him who is in clear error? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 Therefore hold fast to what We have divinely revealed to you; indeed you are upon the Straight Path. (The Holy Prophets can never go astray). 43 And most surely it is a reminder for you and your people, and you shall soon be questioned. 44 And ask thou Our apostles whom We sent before thee: appointed We gods, beside the Compassionate, to be worshipped? 45
