The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 and a few from later times. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and shade extended, 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For those on the right. 38
