Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 it is a warning to man, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
