Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 When the Stars are scattered; 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 who know what you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
