The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
