Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
