The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will now call the guards! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
