Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 a divine writ, the messages whereof have been clearly spelled out as a discourse in the Arabic tongue for people of [innate] knowledge, 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 Those who give not the Zakat and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
