The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform), 1 Arise and warn, 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 and flee from the statues! 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 So that is a tough day. 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he beheld, 21 And frowned and puckered his brow, 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
