The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 he shall call for destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
