The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And no trifle. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Almighty God's Truth.
