Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
