Al-Hummazah
The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 in extended columns. 9
God the Almighty always says the truth.
