Nothing prevented men from believing when guidance came to them, other than (what) they said: "Has God sent (only) a man as messenger?" 94 Say: Had there been in the earth angels walking about as settlers, We would certainly have sent down to them from the heaven an angel as an apostle. 95 Say: Allah sufficeth for a witness between me and you. Lo! He is Knower, Seer of His slaves. 96 And he whom Allah guideth, he is led aright; while, as for him whom He sendeth astray, for them thou wilt find no protecting friends beside Him, and We shall assemble them on the Day of Resurrection on their faces, blind, dumb and deaf; their habitation will be hell; whenever it abateth, We increase the flame for them. 97 That is their recompense, because they denied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and said: "When we are bones and fragments, shall we really be raised up as a new creation?" 98 ۞ Do they not consider that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, is able to create their like, and He has appointed for them a doom about which there is no doubt? But the unjust do not consent to aught but denying. 99 Say: If you control the treasures of the mercy of my Lord, then you would withhold (them) from fear of spending, and man is niggardly. 100
