The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
