Pray, "Lord, if you would show me that [the punishment] of which they have been warned, 93 My Lord! then place me not among the wrong-doing people. 94 Assuredly, We are able to show thee that We promise them. 95 [But whatever they may say or do,] repel the evil [which they commit] with something that is better: We are fully aware of what they attribute [to Us]. 96 Say, "Lord, I seek your protection against the strong temptations of the devils. 97 I seek your protection should they approach me." 98 Until, when death comes to one of them he says: 'My Lord, let me go back, 99 “Perhaps I may do some good deeds in what I have left behind”; this is just a word that he utters from his mouth; and confronting them is a barrier until the day in which they will be raised. 100 So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other. 101 And they whose weight [of righteousness] is heavy in the balance - it is they, they who will have attained to a happy state; 102 But those whose scales are light - those are the ones who have lost their souls, [being] in Hell, abiding eternally. 103 The fire lashes their faces and therein are shriveled lips. 104 Were not My communications recited to you? But you used to reject them. 105 They will exclaim: "O our Sustainer! Our bad luck has overwhelmed us, and so we went astray! 106 Lord, take us out of this and if we sin again, we shall certainly be unjust". 107 [But] He will say: "Away with you into this [ignominy]! And speak no more unto Me! 108 "A part of My servants there was, who used to pray 'our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!" 109 but you made them a target of your derision to the point where it made you forget all remembrance of Me; and you went on and on laughing at them. 110 Now today I have recompensed them for their patient endurance; they are the triumphant.' 111 They will be asked: "How long did you live on the earth in terms of years?" 112 They will answer: "We have spent there a day, or part of a day; but ask those who [are able to] count [time]" 113 He will say, "You stayed not but a little - if only you had known. 114 Did you think that We had created you for a playful purpose and that you were not to return to Us?" 115 So exalted be Allah, the True King! there is no god but he, Lord of the Throne honoured. 116 He, who invokes another deity along with God, a deity of whose divinity he has no proof, will be brought to account by his Lord. Certainly, those who deny the truth shall never prosper. 117 And say: O my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones. 118
