The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 Then those who drive away with reproof, 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 Most surely your Allah is One: 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 And they do not understand, when explained to. 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say, "You will certainly be brought back to life in disgrace". 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!" 21
