40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 About which they have been differing? 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
