The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
