Thamood cried lies to the Envoys 141 Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)? 142 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 I do not ask any recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 145 Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us, 146 "Gardens and Springs, 147 And tilled fields and heavy-sheathed palm-trees, 148 You hew dwellings in mountains and exult in that. 149 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me; 150 Do not obey the order of the wasteful, 151 Who spread corruption in the earth, and reform not. 152 They said: You are only of the deluded ones; 153 You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful." 154 He said, "This is a she-camel. She will have her share of water as you have your share, each on a certain day. 155 Do not treat her unkindly or the punishment of a grievous day will fall on you." 156 But they killed her, and then they became regretful. 157 For they were seized by the torment. Verily there was a sign in this, but most of them did not believe. 158 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 159
