The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven will be opened it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 a fitting requital, 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
