And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 Said Moosa, “I did that at a time when I was unaware of the consequences.” (In anger – See verse 28:15) 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Said [Pharaoh]: "Indeed, if thou choose to worship any deity other than me, I shall most certainly throw thee into prison! 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
