The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They replied, "You are bewitched. 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
