Have you not seen how those who dispute the signs of God are turned away? 69 Those who gave the lie to this Book and all the Books which We had sent with Our Messengers shall soon come to know the Truth 70 When iron collars will be rounded over their necks, and the chains, they shall be dragged along. 71 and are dragged into burning despair, and in the end become fuel for the fire [of hell]. 72 and then they will be asked, "Where are those whom you associated [with God]?" 73 They will say, "They have been lost to us; nay, we did not invoke anything before [that had real existence]." Thus God leaves the deniers of the truth to stray; 74 That is because you exulted in the land unjustly and because you behaved insolently. 75 Enter Hell now to abide in it. How woeful is the abode of those who wax proud! 76 HENCE, remain thou patient in adversity - for, verily, God's promise always comes true. And whether We show thee [in this world] something of what We hold in store for those [deniers of the truth,] or whether We cause thee to die [ere that retribution takes place - know that, in the end,] it is unto Us that they will be brought back. 77 Before your time We sent other messengers: of them there are some whose story We have related to you, and some whose story We have not related to you. It was not [possible] for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of God: but when the command of God was issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice. There and then, those who stood on falsehoods perished. 78
