So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
