Jinns (Al-Jinn)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. 5 And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 but those who have deviated shall become the fuel of Gehenna (Hell). 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” 19
