The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 these are the heirs 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
