20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you who are wrapped up in your mantle, 1 Stand (to pray) all night, except a little. 2 For half the night, or reduce some from it. 3 Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited. 4 We are about to reveal to you a mighty word. 5 Indeed, the first part of night is heavier in tread, and more upright in speech. 6 Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation. 7 And remember thou the name of thy Lord, and devote thyself to Him with an exclusive devotion. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West; there is no god except Him. Take Him for your Guardian. 9 And bear thou with patience whatsoever they say, and depart from them with a becoming departure. 10 And leave Me and the rejecters, the possessors of ease and plenty, and respite them a little. 11 With Us are Fetters (to bind them), and a Fire (to burn them), 12 And food which choketh (the partaker), and a painful doom 13 On that day, the earth and the mountains will be violently shaken, and the mountains will be turned into heaps of moving sand. 14 Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness over you, just as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh. 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure. 16 Then how shall ye, if ye deny (Allah), guard yourselves against a Day that will make children hoary-headed?- 17 And the heaven shall be split therein. His promise indeed must be fulfilled. 18 Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
