The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and gathered his people together 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
