Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HaMeem. 1 By oath of the clear Qur’an. 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the ancients. 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 12 so that you may sit firmly on their backs. Then once you have mounted them, remember your Lord's favour and say, "Glory be to Him who has subjected these creatures to us; we would never on our own have subdued them. 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
