Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
