The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Proclaim the Purity of your Lord, the Supreme. 1 who created all things and gave them due proportions, 2 And the One Who kept proper measure and then guided. 3 Who bringeth forth the pasturage, 4 Then made it dry and dark. 5 We shall now make you read (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), so you will not forget. 6 except what Allah wills, surely, He knows all that is (spoken) aloud and what is hidden. 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 REMIND, THEN, [others of the truth, regardless of] whether this reminding [would seem to] be of use [or not]: 9 Soon whoever fears will heed advice. 10 But it will be avoided by the wretched, 11 Who shall enter the great fire; 12 wherein he will neither die nor remain alive. 13 He who purifies himself, 14 remember the name of the Lord, and pray to Him. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 although the life to come is better and more enduring. 17 This is surely in the earlier Books, 18 the Scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
