Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
