Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 And by the Night when it is still,- 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He dislike you! 3 And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world). 4 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
