And Harun (Aaron) indeed had said to them beforehand: "O my people! You are being tried in this, and verily, your Lord is (Allah) the Most Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order." 90 They said, "We shall continue worshipping the calf until Moses comes back." 91 Then Moses asked Aaron, "What made you not follow me when you saw them in error? 92 "From following me? Didst thou then disobey my order?" 93 Harun said: O my mother's son! hold me not by my beard nor by my head, verily I feared that thou wouldst say, thou hast caused a division among the Children of Israel and hast not guarded my word. 94 Moses said, "What was the matter with you, Samiri?" 95 He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me." 96 [Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. 97 Your Lord is the One who is the only God and He has the knowledge of all things. 98 Thus do We relate to thee some stories of what happened before: for We have sent thee a Message from Our own Presence. 99 Whoever turns away from it, will bear a burden on the Day of Resurrection. 100 They will abide in this (state): and grievous will the burden be to them on that Day,- 101 the Day when the trumpet shall be blown: We shall gather all the sinners on that Day. Their eyes will turn blue with terror 102 They will murmur among themselves, "You remained not but ten [days in the world]." 103 [But] We know best what they will be saying when the most perceptive of them shall say: "You have spent [there] but one day!" 104
