Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority, 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
