The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
