Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth). 4 And they say: Our hearts are protected from that unto which thou (O Muhammad) callest us, and in our ears there is a deafness, and between us and thee there is a veil. Act, then. Lo! we also shall be acting. 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 Truly, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism, and in His Messenger Muhammad SAW) and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop (i.e. Paradise). 8
