The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 God exists. He is the only Lord, the Everlasting and the Guardian of life. 2 He hath revealed unto thee the Book with truth confirming that which went before it; and He sent down the Taurat and Injil. 3 Then those who reject Faith in the Signs of Allah will suffer the severest penalty, and Allah is Exalted in Might, Lord of Retribution. 4 Nothing in the earth and in the heavens is hidden from Allah. 5 He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He likes; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise 6 It is He who sent down upon thee the Book, wherein are verses clear that are the Essence of the Book, and others ambiguous. As for those in whose hearts is swerving, they follow the ambiguous part, desiring dissension, and desiring its interpretation; and none knows its interpretation, save only God. And those firmly rooted in knowledge say, 'We believe in it; all is from our Lord'; yet none remembers, but men possessed of minds. 7 Our Lord! make not our hearts to deviate after Thou hast guided us aright, and grant us from Thee mercy; surely Thou art the most liberal Giver. 8 Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise." 9
