Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
