Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
