He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 or he might be mindful and good counsel might avail him. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 you attended to him, 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 and who has fear of God, 9 to him thou payest no heed. 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
