Hizb 53
< random >
Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
